Short answers to what students ask most. Studying here is free; the answers about certificates and costs are kept in step with the school’s settings.

Blue Petra Seminary is a free, non-degree school of Christian theology, taught in two programmes: Korean and English. It is not accredited and does not award degrees or academic credit. You study at your own pace, and the lectures, quizzes and exams are free.
The Blue Petra team. This is one of three separate Blue Petra sites; the Ministry site (donations) and the Bible Quiz site are independent of it, with their own accounts. Signing up here does not create an account there.
The lecture text is written with the help of AI and is planned, reviewed and corrected by the BluePetra Ministry editorial team. Scripture quotations are copied from public-domain texts, not written by AI. Nothing you do on this site sends your work to an AI service: written work you submit is read by a person.
Reading is open to everyone; no account is needed. Create a free account to save your progress, take quizzes and exams, and earn certificates. If you are not sure where to begin, choose a goal or the time you have on the start page.
Chapter quizzes show you the answers so you can learn from them. Midterms and finals can be retaken as often as you like; the answer key appears once you have passed. The order of the choices changes from one sitting to the next. Written (essay) answers are read by a person and never scored by software; for now, essay questions are set aside from exams so that your result is immediate.
English lectures quote the World English Bible, and Korean lectures quote the 개역한글 (Korean Revised Version). Both are in the public domain. Other modern translations need written permission at this length, so the lectures do not use them.
Other students see only your nickname, or your name partly hidden if you have not chosen one. Your real name appears on your certificate, to school staff and to you, and nowhere else. What you write stays yours: you give the school a non-exclusive licence to show it, and you can withdraw it by deleting the post.
Studying is free: every lecture, quiz and exam, and your study record. The fee is only for issuing a certificate, which creates a permanent record of your completion that anyone can check on the verification page. A course certificate is free until November 30, 2026 (New York time); the planned price afterwards is US$10.
Finish the course and complete the details on your profile. The certificate is then issued.
A track is a group of related courses, such as Biblical Theology. You earn a track certificate by holding the course certificates that the track asks for; the number is shown on each track’s page.
Anyone can enter the certificate number on the verification page. It shows only the holder’s name, the course or track, the date and whether the certificate is valid. It never shows contact details. A certificate withdrawn for cause is shown as withdrawn.
No. It is a certificate of completion for a non-degree course and carries no academic credit. Whether a church, employer or school values it is up to them. The verification page lets them confirm that it is genuine.
No. Your certificate is a page you can open, share by its verification number and print yourself. Nothing is posted, so no address is needed.
Please don’t give up. The school keeps programmes that cover the fee for people who need it: seats for students in chosen countries, promotions for steady students, and voucher codes from sponsors. The guide below shows which are open now.
Answer from the top. Each “No” opens the next question.
Do you have a voucher code?
Yes Enter it in the box on the course page after you finish the course.
Then the fee applies when you finish a course. If it would stop you, write to the school through Messages and tell us.
When a programme is open for your country, you can take a seat. Seats are limited and given first come, first served. While you hold a seat, the certificate fee for your finished courses is waived, up to the number shown on the programme’s page. The certificate itself is the same as any other.
A voucher code pays for one course certificate. Codes come from sponsors or are given out by the school. After you finish a course, enter the code in the box on its page. Churches and sponsors will be able to buy codes in bulk once online payment opens; until then the school issues them.
Joining needs a name and a country. A certificate also needs your date of birth and phone number so the school can stand behind who earned it; nothing is mailed, so no address is needed. Church, denomination and church role are optional and are asked separately, with their own consent. The servers are in the United States, and the sign-up form says so.
Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in page; it answers the same way whether or not an address is registered. To delete your account, write to the school through Messages. If you hold a certificate the account cannot be deleted, because the certificate number has to stay verifiable; we will tell you what can be removed.
The site does not publish an email address, to keep it free of spam. Sign in and use Messages in your account menu: it works even if your email address is not verified yet, and we reply there. If you cannot sign in, try “Forgot password” first.
This is not a degree programme. Certificates are not degrees and do not carry academic credit at accredited institutions.
