1스루야의 아들 요압이 왕의 마음이 압살롬에게로 향하는줄 알고
1Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king’s heart was toward Absalom.
2드고아에 보내어 거기서 슬기있는 여인 하나를 데려다가 이르되 청컨대 너는 상제 된 것처럼 상복을 입고 기름을 바르지 말고 죽은 사람을 위하여 오래 슬퍼하는 여인 같이 하고
2Joab sent to Tekoa, and fetched there a wise woman, and said to her, “Please act like a mourner, and put on mourning clothing, please, and don’t anoint yourself with oil, but be as a woman who has mourned a long time for the dead.
3왕께 들어가서 여차여차히 말하라고 할 말을 그 입에 넣어주니라
3Go in to the king, and speak like this to him.” So Joab put the words in her mouth.
4드고아 여인이 왕께 고할 때에 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 가로되 왕이여 도우소서
4When the woman of Tekoa spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, showed respect, and said, “Help, O king!”
5왕이 저에게 이르되 무슨 일이냐 대답하되 나는 참 과부니이다 남편은 죽고
5The king said to her, “What ails you?” She answered, “Truly I am a widow, and my husband is dead.
