1솔로몬이 여호와의 전과 왕궁 건축하기를 마치며 자기의 무릇 이루기를 원하던 일이 마친 때에
1When Solomon had finished the building of Yahweh’s house, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
2여호와께서 전에 기브온에서 나타나심 같이 다시 솔로몬에게 나타나사
2Yahweh appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.
3저에게 이르시되 네가 내 앞에서 기도하며 간구함을 내가 들었은즉 내가 너의 건축한 이 전을 거룩하게 구별하여 나의 이름을 영영히 그곳에 두며 나의 눈과 나의 마음이 항상 거기 있으리니
3Yahweh said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
4네가 만일 네 아비 다윗의 행함 같이 마음을 온전히 하고 바르게 하여 내 앞에서 행하며 내가 네게 명한 대로 온갖 것을 순종하여 나의 법도와 율례를 지키면
4As for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;
5내가 네 아비 다윗에게 허하여 이르기를 이스라엘 위에 오를 사람이 네게서 끊어지지 아니하리라 한 대로 너의 이스라엘의 왕위를 영원히 견고하게 하려니와
5then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, according as I promised to David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.’
